So dear business owner, maven, marvel, what are you changing? What are you improving?
Your business exists for a reason, right? Somewhere along the line, you thought you could do it better.
You saw something that wasn’t working and wanted to do it differently.
Yes, all businesses are in business to make a profit. You want to be able to eat and provide for those who depend on you.
The question is, how are you going about it? Because doing it for the money rarely leads anywhere fulfilling. Money is not your friend or your loved one. Money doesn’t care about you. Money won’t listen to you if you had a bad day or tuck you in at night.
So, back to the question. How are you doing this thing you are doing differently? What’s better about the way you are doing it?
The old thinking says the way we have been doing it is just fine; it works, and we are not changing it.
But you are not old thinking. You had an idea when you started. You wanted to make your mark. You had a reason behind taking on the challenge.
Then reality sets in. You get stuck in the (difficult) day-to-day of running a business, and you lose sight of the summit, just stuck in the weeds of the everyday.
So, keep a reminder of that lofty summit somewhere. Somewhere where you can see it every day. A post-it, a picture, a poem. Anything to bring you back to the idea you had at the start. So you don’t lose your way.
We need you to show us the way to the change you had in mind.
